I took a peak under my hood when I had my car out today and noticed that there is a cap type thing on nut on the right (passenger) side of the strut brace, but not the left (driver) side. From your pictures it looks like yours is the same. Anyone know the reason for that?

That brownish red cap is a retainer for the positive battery cable. There should be a zip tie like strap from the cap and extending around the battery cable.
