I've only ever seen rock/stone damage like that from a vehicle that tows a trailer behind on a gravel road and stones/rocks are propelled forward after coming off the front of the trailer!!

Hah, well I tried myself for a year or 2 and the yard looked like hell.

I took some more pics this morning, sure seems like it's kick up from the road somehow. There are some chips on the other side, and a bunch of similar nicks on the plastic aero on both sides.

I'm guessing when I went through the canyon, the mud on the road that I heard (and sounded awful) as I drove over it was the cause. I also further suspect the gurney flap is causing a low pressure right behind it which is pulling stuff up, but that's just a SWAG.

That’s odd...but it’s all over, we’re you doing 360s in gravel?

That’s from the aero effects causing a vacuum in that region then sucking the debris up and hitting it. Looks like the 19 aero changes really do work as Ford says. Owners of 19 should put some expel film in that area of the plate.

I have the same issue, I checked with my finger nail, thats primer showing through. These cars have the worst paint jobs

My Front Bumper is even worse, I am going to have the car repainted, and have the stripe painted on.

This is one of the wildest thing I have seen in awhile.

Paint chips on rear bumper? That takes some serious vacuum to turn a rock 180 degrees and make it hit the bumper with enough force to do damage it.

+1 to ford for the great aero work
-1 to ford for their terrible aero work.

I agree! Very odd but that could be the case. I'm still not convinced it hasn't been happening on a transport truck though. These cars are (supposed to be) loaded back-first when transported to dealers.

Ive got a 17 350, and dont have any in the back around the license plate area. Possibly possible :sunglasses: with the 19 swing I think, but until more 19 owners chime in....
