I have new 19 GT, and I'm curious what people are paying (and where) for a full synthetic oil change? I just brought my Mustang into a local Ford dealer for lowering springs and alignment and asked about what they charged. They said, "about $120" bur we not sure/exact. The car only has 200 miles on it, so I'm in rush, but curious.

I'm coming from a lifted Wrangler, which I changed the oil. Easy: no lifting the Jeep, 6 qt Mobil 1 from Walmart (sometimes less than $30 for the 5 qt jug!) and a quick change cartridge filter on the top of the Pentastar V6. So easy and cheap, I could get it done $40-45). But this will be a different animal . . .

Thanks

That's why I asked, Walmart has Mobil 1 5w30 at $23 for 5 x 2 = $50 with tax? $10 for the filter?

I'm trying to factor in the PITA factor of jacking car, dripping filter on suspension/exhaust/frame (heck I don't even know where the filter is on the Coyote yet!), and general sweat equity. etc. This wasn't much of a factor on the Jeep.

I have paid $70 at a local Ford dealership for 5/30 semi-synthetic
I've also used 5/30 penzoil synthetic and motor craft filter for about 60 via Wally mart
Penzoil was having a $20 rebate on 5qt jugs to boot which almost made it free ;)

I dont trust anyone to change my oil. Also the filter is easily accessible thru a door on the driver side and is the perfect time to rotate the tires. Just check out some post on it.

Will do! I only put 6K/yr on the Jeep, and most likely will on the GT too. I did the tire rotation on Jeep with the oil too.

Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5w30 - $18 x 2 = $36 for oil
Either Mobil 1 or MC FL-500s filter - $7-$10

With tax, roughly $50.

$50 for 5W20 Mobil 1 from Walmart, ~$5 for filter and that's about it. Get a large pan (with the large drain hole in the plastic oil pan oil comes out quick) and do it yourself. Filter is under little flap in the floor plan that you have to undo two bolts for.

I usually buy Royal Purple from Walmart in 5 quart jugs, which comes out to $70, then a K&N, Mobil 1, or Motorcraft filter, in decreasing order of preference, which is anywhere from $7 - $15. Costs me about $80-$85 and a half hour of time.

$100?? How? I can do almost TWO oil changes with Mobil 1 for that much! You should look for another place to buy your oil and filters!

I go online to Walmart website. Order (2) 5 qt jugs of PUP 5W-30 and use a FL 500 filter. Taxes and all included I am out of pocket for an oil change for less than $60 bucks.

Ok misquoted myself. The last time I did a oil change on my Mustang I bought some additional items so my total bill was just over 100 bucks. After reviewing the receipt the oil Mobil 1 oil was (2x) 35.97 for a 5 qt jug. and 11.99 for the mobil 1 filter.

Are you 2018+ owners replacing the plastic drain plug each time? Local dealer says they replace it with each change (only $3.50 part). I’ve been using a Mityvac oil extractor for the last several years on pretty much everything (truck, SUV, GTI, M3, snowblower, mower), but I can’t get an extractor tube down the dipstick tube or filler. I safety wired the plastic plug and was hoping to never have to take it off. LOL

No - I changed oil twice so far and both times re-used it. Have a spare one though in case something happens during oil change so I don't have desperately call dealer parts department to get the car running.
