I’m in my 50’s and my near-50 wife lobbied for black wheels else I likely would have got silver. The black helps complete the mid-life-crisis thing. I don’t mind them.

I'm 50. I like the rims no matter the color, material, or style, with one huge criteria... the rims must go with the overall style of the car. Cars with chrome trim look great with chrome accented rims. This is my old Flex, with Boss 337 machined finish 22x9 rims. Got compliments on it anywhere it went:

I like the black PP1 rims on my velocity blue GT. I plan on getting the black badges and doing a black roof so they will tie in nicely. My only quibble is they are pretty dense and are a bit too busy. I prefer a more open look with a 6 spoke design to show off those awesome brakes.
Probably going to buy these rims someday:

I love the concave look and the different offset from front to back and the gun metal is a nice contrast to the black tires.

An example of rims that go with the style of the car IMO. Black rims would look too dark on this one. The silver rims tie in with the stripe and make it a complete package:

And an example of what not to do (hideous :puke:):

I'm not a senior yet, but i hate black wheels. I feel like the trend is beaten to death. I do however like the black wheels with machined face.

Good for her. I think black wheels look good on white cars, especially those with black accents. They go well with your roof.

I'm in the rims first, color second category. I'm a five spoke man (think Torq Thrust), and had the deluxe 18" rims on my 15 Ecoboost. For my 19 i wanted the Black Accent package. Those 7 spoke rims are really nice. Got the best of both worlds with my GT/CS. Love these rims

Very few 18 fit, but there are some users of those here at forum.

By now I'm considering these: LMR SVE SP2

They are modern, lightweight, might be associated with old classy designs depending on how you look at them.

Wish they had silver color option, but gloss graphite might be ok.

Do not cost leg and arm, but not dirt cheap either.
I just received the gloss graphite SP2s to replace my PP1 wheels yesterday. The graphite is kinda dark, but I like it better than pure black.

Here's a poorly lit picture. Sorry, it was later in the evening when I got home to put them on my car. I'll get better ones later today. View attachment 368377

Another senior here who doesn't like black wheels. The design elements can be lost unless you get close up, especially in pictures with poor lighting. On darker body colors, they always appear dirty to me and make the rest of the car look dull. I have a Royal Crimson GT Premium. IMO, black wheels do nothing for this great color. I ordered the factory 20" Premium Painted Aluminum wheels that make the RC pop.

I hated black wheels when they first became popular as I thought most any wheel should be lighter in color if not chrome.

Currently rocking the PP1 wheels on my '19 and don't have any plans to change anything. The dark wheels do give the car a more sinister appearance even if you do lose some of the detail due to the color.

Not a fan of black though maybe an exception on certain color of cars such as black. For the most part, looking at black wheels from anything but close-up, looks like a black blob (wheel & tire) in the wheel house. Personally, I would like to get a chrome Torque Thrust or the equivalent in an 18 x 8. I did pay for the optional silver five spoke but being Old-School, they're not what I prefer.

61 and LOVE them. I dislike the silver or chrome wheels. Sometimes they are hard to find and only come on the very high end performance models. My base GT had them but it was a rare and lucky find for me.

I saw this in August, 2007, and thought that if I ever got a blue car, this would be the way to go.
