How did you make it to work. I have same issue on my new mustang.

Hi all, I had the same issue on my Ford Focus 2018 even after a successful update to SYNC 3 and a factory reset. Android Auto option was still missing.

Then I figured out that the issue could come from the bluetooth pairing, since it does not support Android Auto. In fact, I made it work this way:

1) DELETE THE PHONE PAIRING
2) DISABLE THE BLUETOOTH ON THE PHONE
3) CONNECT THE PHONE USING A USB CABLE
--> The Android Auto option appears in SYNC 3 and the Android Auto is launched on the phone (if previously installed)
4) DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE
5) ACTIVATE THE BLUTOOTH ON THE PHONE
6) PAIR THE PHONE WITH SYNC 3 FOR STANDARD (NON-ANDROID AUTO) FUNCTIONALITIES

Hope this helps.

I'm having same issue on 2016 my friend just purchased... He has tried with an iPhone though, I will try with an android today and see if it works with AA. for his iPhone, we might have to switch out the usb hub.
