Talk about a rubbish 6 weeks

I had the Sto-n-Sho (and the plate) nicked off the front of the Mustang 6 weeks ago in Kings Lynn. Reported to police and the Car (not me) has now been recorded as a victim of crime.

However thanks to a purchase last year from @Jimboy2 I had a US GT Performance Pack one in the man cave, so got a US sized plate from the local factors made up and popped it on, winner winner.

All was well until last night when at about 60MPH, I collided with (or rather it collided with me) a flipping large owl who decided to dive bomb the front of the car. The Sto-n-Sho saved the day, but has been badly bent, bearing in mind it's twice as tall as a Euro spec one, it's been bent back 2-3 inches from vertical, however that extra size probably stopped the owl going thru the lower air intake and colliding with the radiator.

It doesn't look like any of the UK vendors have any stock, which means a call to our cousins over the water

Are they any alternatives to the Sto-n-Sho? Or for that matter does anyone have one in their garage that I can swap for Ā£Ā£Ā£'s

I guess I could just man up and stick a reg plate to the bumper, but I like the way it looks with the S-n-S on it.

If you like the sto-n-sho just get another. There's not a lot you can do about crims and you could drive the rest of your life without hitting another owl....
I love mine.
Stick your plate in the front window for now.

Yes, absolutely - just a little frustrated at the whole thing

I'll have to ask my US office who's over next and maybe get them to bring one in - they owe me a favour or two

If you arenā€™t bothered about having the ability to remove the plate quickly I bought a Ā£15 number plate bracket off eBay which was listed for a Land Rover Discovery. Needed 4 small holes drilling under the front splitter and alloy riveted on.

Sto n sho looks for a fraction of the price.

That looks awesome. I might have to look into something like that. I've just got mine stuck directly to the bumper.

Yes Adam - that looked cool on the EB - why not do the same on the GT?

Mainly because itā€™s white same as the front plate so I got that cheeky little stick on plate this time.

This post has reminded me that i have a motorised sto-n-show holder in my garage. Dug it out yesterday and it still works. The receiver for the remote got chucked years ago so i've ordered a remote garage door opener which i'll wire up to it. A nice small project for the next couple of weeks.
