I bought a ford performance strut tower brace from LMR that included the cowl extension for my 2018 Mustang GT non-performance. I tried installing it and the cowl extension fits perfectly but doesn't matter what I try the tower brace won't align properly with the threads. Could it be a defective item or some issue with my vehicle?

I bought mine from CJPP or AM, dont remember, but mine fit 100%. sorry man, idk. I also have the full firewall brace. I just did it a month ago, I do not recall any fitment issues with the actual bar. the firewall piece took a minute to bend the plastic up, I realized that after I undid the windshield wipers

Diverting off topic a bit... (OP, get on the phone with LMR and ask WTF), loving that coolant expansion tank cover. I found it at AM, but it's priced a bit steep for a bit of plastic with some licensed Ford lettering. But then again, the stock football is so... dumb looking. Myself, I might start with some matte black paint while I deliver a few more newspapers to save up.

Visually from the left side of the brace to the right side, is it flat?

Did you tighten down the opposite side first? Possibly.....if you did, just loosen the bolts and the other side should fit right into place. The holes are elongated, so you should have plently of play in it for fitment.

I had to maneuver mine around a bit for it to align. Like JohnboyNC said, don't tighten anything down until the end.

I have no trouble with the fit on mine. Try what they said above.

So I contacted LMR (amazing customer service) and they confirmed I had a defective unit that might had gotten bent in shipping or something. I will update you once I get the new strut bar and see!
