Can magneride keep a wheel from dropping down into a pothole?

Seems like it could. I saw a video about this with an exterior camera showing reduced wheel travel.

It does seem to prevent the tire falling as much into the hole, reducing the feel of the pothole. I know there has been a similar technology on the Fusion. This is likely part of how the Normal is more comfortable than Sport or Track modes.

Can't speak to the technology and what is actually happening where the rubber hits the road but my seat of the pants opinion: potholes and uneven pavement feel less harsh in my magnaride GT than they do in other cars. Same roads compared to a Grand Cherokee with air suspension and an Infiniti Q60 just to think of two I have direct experience with.

It modulates the dampening... so the impact of hitting a hole isn't jarring, but controlled.

Are you sure you aren’t referring to the Ford Fusion CCD demonstration?
Well, yes, this is exactly what I'm asking about. Guess it only takes a box of ping pong balls to know for sure.

I guess theoretically but keep in mind the MagneRide system has been tuned for performance driving, not apocalyptic road conditions...aka half of the United States.

I thought it changes with drive modes. I.e. normal or comfort mode would make it have the desired behavior discussed in this thread.
I've hit a pretty dirty pothole before and it was a butt pucker moment. Granted even with pot hole logic, I still wouldn't try and push my luck. Thankfully my wheels were still just fine. Balance was spot on.
