No sorry I should have clarified that's while in motion. 230 in bumper to bumper traffic on a hot summer day can and will happen, not to concerning as long as it drops when you start moving. I'd be concerned at 240 idle but I'm sure it's fine up to 250 though I've never seen on both cars over 228 on stock tstat and that lasted only a minute or two. Just dont go WOT when at high CHTs
All in all I wouldn't worry to much about it and for piece of mind just install a 170 tstat and you'll never have to worry about CHT again! Best of luck and PM me anytime if you have questions about installing it.
