Quick one guys, so the Aussie spec mustang has HID headlights, do t all cars with hid need water washers? Can't see that the mustang has that.

Only if they output more then 2000lm. Same with auto levelling which the mustang doesn't have.

Exactly right, this is also why all export Mustangs have slightly dimmer head lights than a US Spec, To avoid needing the washers and automatic leveling in Europe too

Last time I read the ADR there's a clause where they're not required for plastic lenses. Obviously an old carry over rule for when the washers were actual wipers and there was concern of scratching plastic lenses but it was still there a couple of years ago.

Given that just about every car on the market use polycarbonate lenses I think that point no longer applies.

Given we use a D3 35w HID bulb it would be interesting to see how they are dimming it since a 35w D3 bulb outputs roughly 4200lm

Would be an easy upgrade then to whack in a set of 35w D3S modules

Not easy to replace. You need either to modify the D3S bulb or the headlight to have them fit in place.
I did the swap on my car and the light output is much better, not as great as a designed LED headlight, but really better as our D8S 25w HID

I take it you swapped out the entire headlight assembly or just the bulb?

Does anyone know what is the situation with Europe LED lights on 2019 models? Are those weaker then in US? Is this something you can modify easily?
