Just purchased a set of wheels and before I mount them to tires I wanted to ceramic coat them along with the red Bullitt calipers. I decided to do it myself instead of paying a shop to do them. I see Adams has a nice product but curious if anybody else has suggestions based on experience. Thanks.

Done it before with Black Magic....also add Ceramic Brake Pads for less dust!! My Shelby’s are ready for the CQuartz UK today...then Reload tomorrow..then mount the huge Nitto’s Tuesday or Wednesday!! Yes...custom Center Caps made!! One-off stuff!!!

Adam's - garbage.

Gyeon Rim Q2 or IGL Wheel are the two coatings I use on client's cars.

Be sure the wheels and barrels are thoroughly washed and decontaminated(you'll need an iron remover like Iron X) then prep wiped before coating for the best results and most longevity.

Why you say that about Adams? Usually gets top reviews.

They make consumer products for hobbyists.

If you want a better product, look to Gyeon, IGL, GTechniq, CarPro, Meguiar's Professional Line, Rupes, Griot's BOSS Line... etc.

Adam's/Chemical Guys are mass marketed to those whom don't know any better.

Keep in mind that a better coating is 'usually' more difficult to install.

So question... How do you get around wheel weights not sticking after coating? Do I make sure I leave an area uncoated?

Should still stick like glue I would imagine?? Or...I had my wheels n tires mounted and balanced... then did the Ceramic Coating!! Easier on the wheels!!!!

okay that makes sense. some say its better to do before you mount them but for that purpose i guess it better to do it after.
Thanks!

Balance before the ceramic. I made the mistake afterwards. The weights don't stick as well. Had to get one wheel re-done. The clip on weights would suffice obviously.

I first used Sonax wheel cleaner, then Gyeon Iron, Gyeon Bathe, Gyeon Prep, then Gyeon Rim (which is formulated to withstand high heat).
