Yes, or how your tuner sets it up. My Sport mode in auto is drag.
That makes sense. I wouldn't want regular drive to be like drag mode. Drag mode in 301A and higher cars is very aggressive...too much so for daily driving as far as I am concerned. Breaking the tires loose on shifts, jumpy throttle response and not having gears beyond 7th might be fun for awhile but is a bit much for street use. Sure works for drag racing, though!

Wow, did not know you lose 8-10. Is it a soft limiter at end of 7th?

I really never used drag mode except at the strip and would it finish the quarter mile in 6th gear at around 119 mph. I recently got a flex fuel tune and after flashing the car, I tried out all of the modes on the street just to compare them. Drag mode would not go beyond 7th. I couldn't even upshift it with the paddles. The dash display would just flash the 7 when I tried to upshift it. I am not sure if it was that way stock or if the tune is what limited it to 7th. In any case, at the drag strip, you would never need anything beyond 7th anyway. Unless, you have substantial power adders and can exceed 130 or so in the quarter, you would never get past 6th.

when i say like drag mode i mean the WOT shifts. they can have it drive normal and then have drag mode like shifts under WOT.

Yes, that would be fine. However, if I didn't have the various drive modes, my perference would be smooth but firm shifts in regular drive and all-out drag race shifts when putting the shifter in the sport position.

First rip at the track this year and first time with Gen 5 whipple /PBD tune /3.625 pulley/DW400 and BAP l. Disabled advace trac using toggles and ran in D/drag mode but torque management kept knocking timing down every shift . Only pass with skinnies up front was 10.0@139
Kind of dissapointed as was expecting high 9’s @140+ as I went 10.2@138 last year with the same pulley and whipple 93 tune(ran race gas or boostane )

Torque control readings were 16 (torque based decel ) and 7 (transmission shift modulation ). No 2’s which is traction control .
Tuner advised to disconnect plug so I did but won’t back few days later today.

Ran slower although it was hotter . Torque control is still knocking down timing with same tables I called it a day after 2 passses (I should have but did not compare with plug connected as I developed a sagging bumper)

I’ve been running unplugged for a few months now but last Friday I plugged the traction control back up on last past of the night and I get my fastest ET ever. So my question is does running unplugged slow the car down ???

Lund Tuned E85

went to the strip last night and had the same thing happen to me. Granted this is on a stock tune. But car felt so much quicker and shifted harder with it plugged in. Last lap was a hot lap and inlet temps were close to 140 yet it gained almost 2 mph. Look at the time i actually ran. Quickest hot lap i gained the most mph
