I love the idea of getting the R7, but those of you with the R3, how annoying are the blind spot false positives? I've seen all of the vortex stuff of youtube, but in the real world I'm wondering if I'd be better off getting the Radenso rather than the R7.

I get some, not a lot. And they seem to be streaky: one day I'll have 3-4, the next week, nothing.

I'm stepping up to the new R7 once the first firmware update comes out.

Down load to release 1.37 on the R3 and the BSM falses are almost nonexistent. That's what I'm using after being at release 1.48.

I'm not sure about other states, but I think I've seen a highway patrol officer actually use LIDAR like twice.

Thanks. I don't understand much about the BSM false positives, so I think I'll try out the R7 and if it's a problem just deal with it. The perks of the R7 are too numerous I think.

Yea, you have to be stationary to use it. Not really used much. Traffics units on major highways or Interstates typically use them.

Just looked at the R7...very nice! I use the Escort Max 360c and really like what it does for me, but I'm thinking of getting the R7 for one of my other vehicles.

If you are considering the R3/R7+ and not sure if you need the directional arrows and/or GPS lock-out (you probably don't if you're questioning it) then you should consider the Best Buy version of the R1. I picked mine up for $150 on sale/discount.

for a 2018, can someone confirm which 2 wires to tap into for power?

also, is this the mirror tap set to get, and, which ends/size works best for fitment?

For the MirrorTap, use the second largest taps. They will fit. Others will be too small and the largest too big. Cannot recall the wire colors but positive is bottom right corner and negative the furthest left wire on the bottom. At least that is what it is in a 2018.

The mirror harness wires are brown (positive) and blue (negative)

on my '18 R, i am seeing:

top right: green wire
bottom right: brown wire
2nd from bottom right: baby blue wire
3rd from bottom right: empty
4th from bottom right: black wire

can either/both of you confirm which 2 wires to tap exactly?

i want to say that brown/yellow is hot/switched while black is ground. waiting for confirmation thanks.

18 should be the same. I don't really remmreme what exact color was mine as far as being brown or light brown but I do know it was brown and blue.

Try it and see if it works.
