I like my chucks... but generally vulcanized sole shoes are winners IMO

I wear my normal shoes for track driving. I practice heel and toeing all the time on the street with those normal shoes, so I'm really used to them. If I switch shoes for a track event I have to relearn things based on a different shoe. I thought I would try swapping shoes back and forth based on some people saying on the internet how great this or that driving shoe is (I have some Pumas) - but I found I prefer my everyday shoes over driving shoes. The pedals in our cars are really far apart and IMO they are set up for wide shoes. Narrow driving shoes just make it more difficult to operate the pedals in my opinion.

I purchased a pair at the Puma store. Under $90.00. Love them!

Actually an old pair of Nike running shoes. I can't remember what the names of them were but they're pretty thin and light and they give me great pedal feel.

Make sure the shoes you wear on track are not synthetic fabric (polyester etc) as these can melt in the event of a fire. Wearing an SFI rated shoe is a good idea if you find yourself out on track a lot. Here's what I just started wearing.

Furthermore, make sure ALL the clothing you wear on track is cotton or flame retardant fabric (no synthetic fabrics). Such as your underwear for example.
