Man I would try a 305/45/17 R. The taller/wider tire will kill some gear while providing more rubber on the ground. Maybe see if you can borrow a set at the track for a pass and see if that’s not the answer
Was not sure if they'd fit the terminator cobra reps- I went conservative just to make sure I didnt have any clearance issues. I am siding with poor track prep and not hot enough- I was at 21psi but that was cold and I did not check pressure afterward to see if it went back up. They had been working to dry the track up too and only opened up left lane, it is definitely possible the lane had some residual moisture down the way a bit. I was running the better RWD times that day, I was at Island Dragway in NJ which is not the best prepped track in the area- but its 25 minutes from my house so it's my quick go to to get some times and practice.

Can't do nothing about prep. Prep is usually good as soon as the gates open. Try to get there eairly. And goes away after the Hondas and other hoopties start breaking and dragging oil every where. So getting the tire pressure right is critical on the first couple of passes. Where you'll likely get your best runs. And even more critical just for your safety. As the night goes on. After the crew has had to clean Honda juice off the track a few times. Try setting pressure in the 16-18 range. I do a long first gear burn out. And let it rip.
