I had that prosthetic device on one or two of my before-power-steering cars. I took care to mount them with the pivot inside the wheel, which made for better push-pull steering when appropriate. And, here's the old fashioned way.
Read my previous comment.Great info bud!
Agreed. I don't know of any pro road racers or drifters who do hand over hand. That'll probably do more harm than good.Skip Barber taught "shuffle-steering" (push/pull) and said that hand over hand was a bad technique for control and consistency.
I do. All the time. And yet no drivers use push pull, except on race day when they are in cars with high ratio steering.
That doesn't make sense when high steering ratios racecars don't require you to move your hands from 9 & 3. You'd have a tough time finding video of any pro racer or drifter who uses the bus-driver style hand-over-hand technique due to it's significant disadvantages and problems. And yet no drivers use push pull, except on race day when they are in cars with high ratio steering.
I almost didn’t make it past the intro lol.
Same here, street or track. Track it is quite rare I ever move my hands from 9 and 3. Street is wherever comfortable but I still push/pull mostly. With SC2's on the car it is mostly 9 and 3 though or might find yourself in a different lane.3 & 9 o'clock, push/pull only in tight situations.
Because race!!
