What To Do With The 2018 GT Engine Cover?

Any thoughts on dressing up my engine cover? Looks terrible with it off and I’m thinking maybe painting parts of it. Looked through the thread on Engine Bays and not much on the ‘18. Thanks for any input.

I like your Blue. May try something like that. Maybe a darker Ford Blue.

Thanks, and even though it looks light in the photo it is ford blue (darker blue)

Did you masc all the letters? I saw someone saying they just sanded the paint off the letters after.

No I didnt. I painted the whole section and blocked sanded the lettering. After sanding I clear coated the entire painted area to blend it all togather. Just make sure you mask off the painted area around the letters you are planning to sand so that you dont mess up the paint on the area above and below the letters.

A little different variation of some on here. I like it. Should I uncover the center part before I put the clear on it? Also, anyone else break off one of the clips getting the damn cover off?

it looks great! I like the way you laid yours better then mine. I would clear coat it just as it is now, with the masking in place

Personally I think it would look best if you cut off the "wings" on the front of it, but I believe that is where the clips that hold it on are?
What does the one on the Bullitt look like?
