I don't mean to nag anyone about their purchase but it's something that literally makes no sense to me. The V6 S550 has the least power and least torque and 2nd best fuel mileage out of all of the new S550s...

Let's go off pre-2018 since I own a 2016.

GT = 435hp/400tq - I average about 14-18 mpgs
EB = 310hp/350tq - Can easily see 28-30 mpgs
V6 - 300hp/280tq - But why?

The EB is probably the easiest to make power with because turbo duh!
The V8 is obviously the most fun and sounds the best, until your EB has 550tq? Idk

So, what is your reasoning?

The Cyclone is one of the best and most reliable engines available. Before the Ecoboost was available, it had more HP and got better mileage. To push Ecoboost sales, they detuned the V6 and would not offer any premium packages. Even so, they still were popular with buyers. My 2013 has 95k miles and no problems or loss of performance. Despite a lot of 80+ driving, my long term fuel mileage is 26.5 mpg. On long trips, I have numerous runs of 33+ mpg on a tank.

I'm more referring to someone who picked the V6 out of the 3 option line up.

Ford designed, manufactured and marketed the v6 as an elaborate joke on you. You should feel honored that they went to such lengths just to keep you up at night thinking about other people's cars.
I can assure you that I sleep like a baby and am thinking about the sound of my Coyote. :wink: However, this does come to mind when a V6 tries to drag race on the highway on my way home from work. They get an odd look from me and get to see a shiny set of tail lights.

Sounds like something a GT3 RS or Performante Huracan owner would ask a Coyote Mustang owner

Not that it's an option now but when it was offered some people wanted an entry level Mustang at the cheapest price. When i bought my 15' EB i was looking at the V6 but wanted a performance pack which the V6 did not offer. I only went with the EB because of the PP.

Bought mine as a fleet vehicle from fleet sales.

About 18,500USD

The most reliable car I have ever owned.

Power was underrated to 87 octane as they kept it in production probably just fleet sales contractual obligations. Handling underrated and could only be compared to the PP cars with it’s all season thinner tires. Car is better than the specs stated.

I prefer this car to the 2018 GT and up due to reliability issues alone.

Daily driver even on Canadian winters starting at -25 degrees and not making any weird noises.

That’s some of my reasons.

Some more stats:

On 93 octane the horse power is between 305-308 (or more).

With governor removed the car goes 157mph top speed.

The 15-17 EB was rated 310/320 IIRC, the torque rating was boosted to 350 in 2018 and the V6 had been discontinued by then.

You guys who rant about numbers...

Do you ever race against others?

I could say my V6 is the perfect daily driver but I also beat better cars on paper because my fear level is higher and the armchair racers chickened out (usually in the corners but also from a dig or roll due to inexperience).

There is always that! Just saying...

I viewed my choice as V6 for entry level and GT if I wanted to spend more for more power. I didn't see the Ecoboost as enough of an upgrade to put up with 4 cylinder sound and figured it would be less reliable.

You can win a drag race against a GT if you have some smarts and have some skill.

But you can’t be intimidated. Race them and be pleasantly surprised. :rockon:
