Mr. Schwerin, that was a tuned car with the limiter removed and the cutoff raised to 76 or 7700. That is in fact what I am going to do next and hopefully get in on another airstrip run!

Indeed it was. Just saying its not gear limited to 163. Though it also had no wind resistance.

It will pull 163 in 6th pretty quick from 100 or so! I think it would pull 185 or 190 if unrestricted in the right condituons!

Mr Brett! Finally got a chance to take her back to the airstrip with 3300 on the clock. She will pull right up to redline now at 163. I have no idea why it wouldn't before unless ford made the ECU limit revs before a certain mileage was reached. Mine just stopped pulling at 157 before and that's about 7100, hard to look when your coming to the end quickly. Next up is a tune for next run!
Nice, that makes more sense…

I agree, that is what I was expecting, definitely in the 185-190 range... I know my 2006 VW Jetta 2.0T is drag limited to 145mph (Car and Driver). The car is rated at 200hp, but APR have dyno'd them and come up with 218bhp. So to double your speed to need to increase HP by a factor of 4. Or if you double your HP you will increase speed by factor of 1.26. So if your double 218hp, you get 436hp and 145mph x 1.26, gives you 184mph. So we are definitely in the 185-190mph drag limited range I would say. Now the Mustang is heavier than the Jetta, and I do not know what the cd of both vehicles are....but I believe you are correct....

Thank you so much for the update TJ!
I just couldn't live in that socialist paradise. If the tech companies move out, CA is toast!

I'm completely with you in spirit but I love living at the beach and that's not available anywhere else. Sad to say.
Panama. They use Mustang GTs there for police cars...

Do you know what the top speed or theoretical top speed should be in 5th and 6th gear given our gearing?

Maybe that's some sort of unspoken, forbidden thing!!.. Do not take it to 7400RPM!
Are you kidding. That's what I bought it for!

I just put the steeda tune on mine and you can really tell a difference from 2 to 3000 rpm. Feels like it got a big kick in the tail! Haven't revved her out yet but cant wait to pull 7600 now! Sounds a little deeper now also. Air fuel changed a good deal.

The tune+flasher is $599 on Steeda's site.
They get 60 to 70 more ft lbs of torque between 2 and 3000 rpm. Right where you stay while cruising. Made a huge difference in the way it feels down low. Yes 599 for tune and tuner and the tuner comes blank. If your like me it took a hour to update tuner and pull the strategy codes off the pcm.lol

That's huge! Do they actually have it on their Dyno graph? The torque is the key.$600 for 60 foot pounds of torque is a good deal. My understanding also is that Ford cannot deny a warranty claim just because the computer had been reflashed. Unless there's a key element to the tune that cause the problem. I might be wrong but I believe it was the supreme Court ruling some years ago it put the responsibility to prove the modification caused the problem on to the manufacturer.

Yes it's on one of the tuning by James videos where he is tuning some bullitts.
