A lot of people agree that ditching your factory hood prop rod and adding hood struts is a necessary upgrade for your 2015-2017 EcoBoost or GT Mustang. This QuickLIFT PLUS Hood Strut Kit from Redline Tuning is designed specifically for Non-Domestic Mustangs (models manufactured outside of North America).
Redline Tuning created this Hood Strut Kit for so we can offer it to 2015-2017 Mustang owners around the world. This is not a replacement for the kits we currently sell. The current products (HDGL24 and HDGL25) that we list for the S550 are not intended to be used on Non-Domestic EcoBoost and GT Mustangs (no V6 Mustangs are manufactured for sale outside of North America) due to the addition of the Active Hood Safety Feature.

This Hood Strut System from Redline Tuning is a simple upgrade. You can install it quickly with simple hand tools. Redline Tuning released a completely new design for the 2015-2017 Ford Mustang. It is a bolt-in installation with minor modification to the plastic battery cover necessary to pass through the hidden fender bracket. The result is a patented bolt-in design that operates smoothly and reliably.
What is the Active Hood Safety Feature?
When your Mustang starts to sense it is going to hit a pedestrian, it raises the hood to increase the distance between the aluminum body and hard parts below. This increases the distance over which the aluminum can crumple before the victim hits hard underhood engine components. In a nutshell, it aims to reduce the risk of serious injury to a pedestrian. Due to this feature being installed on all Non-Domestic Mustangs, Ford had to design a different hood hinge assembly for those models. Redline Tuning manufactures this Hood Strut Kit with a new set of brackets designed specifically for these models.
