No idea. I do know the fastest A10 car seem to be leaving in 2nd
I'm not sure if it is harder on them, I do see it becoming popular with the big power turbo cars though....

I run 145mph in the 1/4. The 10 speed tames down 1st gear a tad and you can still get solid 60's with the 3.15's.
Hey Boss. I assume you staying in 6th as you cross the traps .
I did some math with the gear calculator.
6th gear is 1.28 ratio.
With a 3.31 rear end(I have an iron assembly out a manual seating in my storage) and a 28 inch tire RPM in 6th gear @147 mph will be about 7500.

Like the title says. How many 3.15 gear A10 whipple cars or swapped for the track? Is it worth the swap. I have 3.55 and am only looking for high 9's street car not race car...
You don’t need to swap gears to run high 9s. I’m 3.55. And I promise this 4068 pound car will hit 9s this fall on E85. Been running 93 so far.

I think he was asking about 18-19’s /A10 cars specifically.
I think the lethal car that went 9.7’@145 did have the 3.55’s but they have since switched to 3.15’s.

The 10 speed is more likely to slip in 7th gear so if you can stay in 6th through the traps it helps .

With a 28 inch tire /3.55’s @145 mph you will be going through the the traps @6200 rpm in 7th gear vs 7400 rpm in 6th with a 3.31 and 7000 rpm with a 3.15 rear end .

Yes ET street Rs in 1st gear
I’ve got the same setup, but Whippled 872/720. It annihilates the tires in 1st and 2nd on the street. Been trying to get to track for a month. Shitty Ohio weather. Too cold or raining. Not sure if I’d be able to leave in 1st, seeing some of the faster cars leaving in 2nd. Hoping for results similar to yours. Thanks

You will make a lot more torque off the line. That was the main reason I went with a centri. Both have pros and cons for sure. I’m going to try leaving in second off the transbrake next time out.

I’m gonna try it. Thinking of switching to 3.15 if it won’t hook. I’m a little scared of the trans brake. Trying not to hurt the tranny!

I was too. I have a CF driveshaft and Ford Racing axles to be safe.

For reference I ran 9.46 at 152 with 3.55 gears. 2018 Procharged a10.
Nice .I assume the trans is shifting into 7th, crossing the traps @6500?
