I'm new to E85 but I've noticed a big jump in price and the gap in price with 93 octane narrowing since February. Back then I was paying $1.99 per gallon.

It's still a great price for what amounts to race fuel but it's getting to be the more expensive option when factoring in MPG. I'm wondering what the incentive would be for normal flex car drivers?

Seems like all gas prices are going up again as people are travelling for spring break and things are warming up and back to full blend gas instead of winter blends. Around 20 cents more for 93 than it was a month ago :(

1.85 near me.... right around 80% ethanol... I noticed the higher priced e85 stations have more gas and lower ethanol %..

I seem to get either 65% or 84% without much price difference. I was just surprised by the gap closing with E85 to 93. I was feeling really happy when the difference was $1. It's running 2.59/2.69 at the two stations near me.

I filled with 93 on my trip to Jacksonville for extended range and OMG, I could feel the difference. The car felt slow in the low/mid power band.

About $1.89 here in San Antonio. I'm still averaging about 17mpg overall on the E85 so no concerns on price.

Wow! What's the ethanol percentage on that? I had 18-19 MPG before the Flex tune.

I think I'm around 13-14 MPG but I stopped paying attention. When I filled up on 93 and hit the highway I got 30MPG going mostly 70 MPH on the Lund Flex tune. The DTE display didn't change for the first half of the drive.

My girlfriend is heading up to San Antonio for the Spartan race. I hear it's nice there.

Crude oil is on the rise so expect gas prices to rise a lot within the next year. I paid 3.19 for 93 octane yesterday and expect to pay 4.00 or over in 6 months. My Fiesta ST runs so much better on the 93 versus 87 or 89 and I will eventually bolt on some mods and tune the car to 93. I get nearly 40 MPG most of the time but 4.00 a gallon is still pretty steep. I run 87 in my GT and it's .60 cheaper per gallon.

Multiple refineries had explosions and fires over the weekend. 1 is still d=burning here in Houston. Gas will go up more than usual this spring.

Come to Ca... Prices are the same now as they were when oil was $127a barrel. Even with the new gas tax fees etc, there is a $.49 a gallon gouge going on.

I would have expected E85 to be less impacted by crude oil. But I've not paid much attention until recently.

I guess Monsanto may want to get in on the game when crude goes up??
