Race star hub rings

I ended up with the wrong set of hub rings for my racestar. Anybody run these without rings? From what I've read they only center the wheel during installation but you can install the wheel without them if you are not an idiot. I went ahead and put the wheels on fitment is good. I have a 50mile drive to the dragstrip today so trying to get so opinions before my voyage.

I havent had a problem not using the eccentric rings with mine.
