Driver Mod (Classes/Schools) in Texas

Hi all,

I am looking for suggestions on driving classes in Texas. I know the basics and have been going fast on four and two wheels for decades. But, I am really looking to start with the basics with professional instruction before getting serious with track time.

Any suggestions within weekend driving distance from DFW?

NASA, SCCA, PCA, BMW Club, The Driver's Edge, and Chin Track Days all hold events at MSR Cresson about 1/2 hour outside of Fort Worth. Eagle's Canyon is another track north of DFW. Texas Motor Speedway also holds events on their roval. I can't speak for the quality of instruction you may receive in that region, but I've heard good things about Chin, and PCA vets their instructors pretty thoroughly. Any Dallas-area owners care to weigh in?

From what I've heard, Driver's Edge is very good. I run quite a bit with Edge Addicts and am always impressed.

I am a big proponent of NASATX. Their instructors have really been great and provide detailed information on not only the line of the track, but also how to control the car. I'm a big fan of "Challenge by Choice" and working up confidence, which for me, turns into faster speed and they have always that motto and helped me get there without pushing me into uncomfortable situations.
