I saw this today:
https://www.americanmuscle.com/mmd-decklid-panel-prepainted-1517.html

There is an option to be prepainted DHG.

The movie car and the original 68 had a painted decklid. Has anyone thought of painting theirs?
Not to get off-topic, but it's actually finally been proven that the original 68 actually did have a blacked out rear panel, and then it was put back to stock (re-painted HG) when the car was resold. Sean Kiernan, owner of the hero Bullitt Mustang, confirmed this on the Bullitt Facebook page recently.
