Be sure to watch this build here and on my instagram at @flatplanefury

After owning a 660whp GT500 convertible I made the decision that I was more in the market for a sports car than a muscle car. My search began for suitable replacements but the field isn't full of sports cars that have a backseat for my 5 year old daughter to ride along in. My search ended up bringing me back to another mustang and the GT350 in particular. I had almost settled on a local new 2017 in blue with black stripes even though I wasn't in love with the color combination. I then came across an ad for this used 2018 in Tennessee. It was a 2,000 mile 2018 with serial number J0006 and a price 10k less than sticker on a new 2018. I worked with the dealer and ran to pick her up. The car was bone stock aside from an exhaust resonator delete. Although the car was a Canadian car originally (as evidenced by the mechanical gauges in the center being in metric denominations) it was clean and ran perfectly so I brought her home.

After getting the car home, and thanks to the sale of many parts from my GT500 the modifications begin. The first mods were the badge overlays from a forum member who did an amazing job of working with my to find the right color match for this relatively new color. I also shipped my headlights off to my good friend Joey at PSLightingSolutions for custom work. He blacked out the amber reflectors, paint matched the silver trim, and etched the GT350 logo onto the projectors.

On the drive home I noticed how difficult it was for me to easily rev-match downshift I also went through at this point and added the DIY gas pedal spacer, but ultimately knew it would need more so I ordered up the mad width gas pedals and the floormat plate from Sullivan Racing Products. This mod combined with the resonator delete makes for the most glorious downshifts.

I put steeda lowering springs on my mag ride car, but that would probably lower a gt350 too much.

Next I felt like the car could use some additional color to highlight these massive brakes so used the custom color feature that G2 offers to get custom color matched paint for the brakes. I ended up painting them on the car after some good cleaning and masking and they turned out great. Afterwards took the car out for a little photoshoot with the orange themed mods now mostly installed.

During the process though I noticed that the driver's side rear wheel barrel was coated in grease. Further investigation showed the the entire rear suspension was which led to me discovering the driver's side axle boot was torn so off it went to the dealership for it's first oil change, the axle repair, and they also fixed a minor leak at the oil cooler lines.

Up next came a few more minor mods for the car in the form of the custom license plate that gives this thread and car it's name. Based on the nickname my daughter has had for both my GT500 and GT350.

I also went ahead with the full Diode Dynamics interior kit and front signal marker switchbacks.

Up next was a set of GT350 badge inserts from Zimcraft. These things were a complete pain to install as they are tiny little decals. I cut them into individual 4 pieces to ease the install the "GT", 3, 5, and 0. Then I used a toothpick to pick through the various pieces and getting them laid down into the grooves on the letters. In the end though I love the look and my only change may be to paint the badges satin black and buy another set. Can't make up my mind though.

After cleaning up the exterior I moved to the suspension. Car now has the following installed.

CaliPerfexion caliper studs
Steeda G-Trac Brace
Steeda Ultralow profile jacking rails
Steeda IRS brace
Steeda IRS locating dowels
Ford Racing lowering springs
Ford Racing front and rear swaybars

I also added a set of R-spec Project6GR wheels in satin black. Car still has the 35 series tires from the stock GT350. They're a little stretched over the wider wheels, but they also fill out the fender gap perfectly.

Just got around to adding the ZL1 Addons wickerbill for the track pack spoiler last night. A little daunting drilling 9 holes into the factory wing and then hoping it all lines up correctly. Rainy and gross so only pictures of it from inside the garage right now. Aside from being a little scary to install it went on pretty smooth. There is one spot on the rear wing where it's not exactly flat and it creates a bit of a "high point" that presses against the wicker bill. Not sure how this will affect the setup long term. Hopefully it doesn't develop any cracks.

Just came across this theead @mavisky !

Looks great so far :like:

Re: oil leaks you mentioned early, make sure you double check your oil pressure sending unit- a known weak point. I have sealant and torque specs in the GT350 Basics sticky in my signature line.

Thanks for the thread! Keep it going!!

I had actually bought the sealant thinking that was the issue, but it was 100% solved with that oil cooler line repair under warranty.

So over the last month or so I've more or less finalized the exterior mods on the car.

SBS splitter kit with longacre splitter support rods
ZL1 Addons rear wickerbill
Big Worm Graphix stripe kit - satin black with satin silver

Splitter kit is made of ABS and with some slight mods came out great. Absolutely does need the splitter rods as it nearly ripped the center portion of the splitter off of the car at 100mph without them.

ZL1 Addon wicker bill looks great and with a little brush on clear coat on the exposed edge it looks a lot more finished that it originally did with the rough cut edge.

Big Worm graphix kit went on well and I love the fact that it wraps around the edges and no longer stops short on the hood and trunk.

Ok first pic is just me in love with the concavity of these Project6GR wheels.

With a job change to a software startup the modifications have slowed down a bit but are still on-going. A project is never really done is it?

First up was the replacement of all of the overlays with new overlays custom made to match with the help of Bemaro Films. In addition to the previous overlays on the splitter and badges, I added some additional external and internal overlays.

Under the hood a few other mods were done as well. The factory air filter was replaced with the Ford Racing replacement filter, coil cover inlays from Bemaro were added, and some JLT covers for the strut tops, the abs system, and the hideous coolant takn is now covered as well.
