Hey all, I'm surprised I wasn't able to find a thread on this so here we go.

Ford has two color codes for Oxford White: YZ and Z1. To the best of my knowledge our S550 Mustangs are all YZ.

Ford touch up paint sold as a match for YZ is not. It's a noticeably darker, creamier color than the bright white that is on our cars. I assume that it matches Z1 better than YZ, but I don't know.

I have tried Dupli-Color as well, but it's exactly the same thing as the Ford product; I believe the Ford product is manufactured by Dupli-Color.

I'm trying to find a better color match for S550 Oxford White. Any direction is much appreciated.

Not sure if it's relevant or not...

My touch up paint for Magnetic Metallic isn't spot on either. Noticibly darker in color.

So I went to my local Ford dealers collision center and had a conversation with the head painter. When I said that I was having trouble matching Oxford White he smiled and took pity on me :-). He ended up blending a good size touch a bottle for me for free. It is absolutely perfect. I applied some under the hood, let it dry, and did a very light wet sand with 2500 grit. It is invisible.

Dr. ColorChip is your solution I used it a few times for rock chips from road trips, it is 100% match as long as you follow the instructions which are very simple. There is no way you could tell a small chip was covered up.

I have used Dr Color Chip in the past, including for a white BMW. I would recommend you try them.

Has anyone tried Dr. Colorchip on a ceramic coated vehicle? Any issues?
