how long was the 6r80 out before they went 8s with it? i dont think one hit 8s in 2012
i'll have to look back, it was at least 3 years before the trans got to the point to run 8's, maybe 4, i think we were the 2nd in the 8's with a 6r80

Cant find anything concrete online. JR3Z-6009-A. I believe this is the part no, but could be wrong.

Only way to get your hands on one today, is by calling a dealer direct or Ford. None of the online retailers are showing any stock.

Probably for the same reason no one has ran a 7 in 18+. More stuff starts to reach its limit once you lean on it that much. IE the motor or more than likely stock trans. Parts have just started to be released for beefing up the 10 speeds and there were no converters before. 9s seem to be the happy place where you can reach consistantly with power adder and fuel system on E85 and still keep the car livable.

Yes with mcloed clutches, circle d converter, and weight reduction. Car moved thats for sure.

My question is more so about why no one else can do it with stock internals as far as the trans goes?
The whole point of this post is to open up peoples eyes just a little bit.
Why not just come out and call them liars.....vs a whole long post.

As Beefcake said its the trans tuning. Holding gears and shifting consistently is the problem. Also good air and perfect track prep is a must for the 10 speed.

Trying to start a little debate here. Haven't seen a good thread in a few days.

Just want to see your opinions as to why only two 2018+ mustangs have made it into the 8's.
One of which took Mcloed clutches and Circle D converter.
But the other stock motor and trans.

I've seen 3 other 2018's dip in the low low low 9's, myself included.
Boy oh boy. And I thought I was a drama queen. You now own that crown. :facepalm:

Few things.

1. You need to A. Shut off youtube. B. there are more than 2 in the 8s. Show me which 2 you are talking about unless I missed it.
2. Talking about cars in the 8s but then go well gen3 short blocks are 1800 dollars.....
3. Ever think that not every single car that runs down the strip has a forum whore or youtube dildo as an owner?

LOL wants it to run 8s but on stock trans. OK fine but the real question is how many times can you repeat it with stock parts!!!°
