Why bother buying a R if you’re going to remove 1/2 of what makes the R a R?
Because a new front wheel costs almost $4200.

Hey @50 Deep, sharpen your pencil and give me a brother from another mother discount...…..

I might have a warranty on my AG R for the wheels, but they wont hook me up on my new one, JR357

My point is, the main difference between the GT350 and R are the wheels.
I owned a 16 track pack and now a R. I’m aware of the other differences between the two cars.
But if a buyer is going to swap to lightweight forged wheels and make other changes to the cars suspension it’s pointless to buy a R unless it’s for the purpose of owning a R.

For a built track car such as what I did to my track pack, or what someone like HoneyBadger is doing to his, it’s pointless to buy a R.

Me too. I had a '16 track pack and now have 3 R's. There is more to an R than just wheels/tires. However, I will say that it is a huge leap forward for non R owners to put lighter wheels and sticky tires on.

Differences off the top of my head....
#1 VIN
#2 Tires
#3 Wheels
#4 Aero
#5 Weight reduction (no back seat plus others)
#6 suspension upgrades and the different tuning to go along with it

So my point was that unless you are a trust fund baby who doesn't care about spending $4200 on a replacement wheel, you are better off saving the benefit of carbon fiber for the track (where the difference would be realized). Why do you need carbon fiber wheels on the street unless you are going through the starbucks drive thru on your way to cars and coffee?

That’s exactly what I said.
On my track pack, I removed over 200 pounds and without me telling someone they wouldn’t know how.
I can guarantee that if equal drivers in the same day same track drove my track pack vs a stock R the outcome would beat the R hands down.
Now modify the R the same way and it would be a equal car.
At the time (2015-16) when R’s were bringing $80k+ prices, it was pointless to buy a R to track it hard unless money wasn’t an object.

My R will be in the 3500 pound range soon.
The power to weight ratio will be .16802 vs the stock .14204.

Lol, it's come full circle. I was you a while back making the same argument.

Funny how it all turns out.

Last time I priced a front CF wheel (which was not long ago) the price was over $6300 for each of the fronts with the rears at ~$6000 each as Ford and CR took a steep increase in price as of late.

$4200 per wheel sounds like a great deal to me based on what I was recently quoted.

Yes, exactly, $6300 retail. Street price from white bear lake was $41XX. Pat explained to me that pricing was right around $2500 each until Ford changed the part number and the price went up with it.

I need to get another set of street wheels.

Thanks guys. I don’t like that I can’t feel the clutch engagement point like I can with my terminators
