Yeah. Adds a small amount of stiffness to the front structure. I wouldn't do it for anything other than a racecar, personally.

Built one for my car not for strength, but to free up blocking the intercooler.

Finally... I wished they were made from some lighter material. Anyone know of the weight difference over oem?

This is actually a very cheap way to drop 22lbs. Anyone that has worked on dropping weight in these cars knows how expensive it is. My main criticism is no provisions for tow hooks.

That has always been the criticism for these through the years but no one has really given a reason why. One side says it has to do with how the car reacts in a car accident, that the aftermarket bumper supports offer little to no benefit in an accident. Other side says there is no detriment only benefit as the path manufacturers take to design this is cost effective whereas aftermarket is design efficiency, that both will function exactly the same in all situations but aftermarket offers additional benefits like weight loss.

Again, no argument with you as I have heard the exact same thing no matter which manufacturer. Just never had a good reason why.

The bumper support the car has is designed to assist in the absorption of energy during a crash. Stiffer is not always better for impact protection. This is a great product for racecars with harnesses/HANS/cages, etc. I wouldn't put this on a street car myself. To make sure it's clear: I'm not saying this is unsafe. I have no data to say how this performs as compared to the factory piece in the event of a collision, I just know how the factory piece is intended to function.

I really like the idea of freeing up all that space for airflow as well.

I wonder how well these function for bumper support. I've got the beginings of the dreaded rear bumper sag in the rear going on. Would love to fix that before it gets too bad.

@BMR Tech what say you?

@LethalBlake your site says 15-17, BMR shows 15-19. Are these limited to 15-17?
Last time we checked BMR has not confirmed fitment on 18-19 cars yet, so until we hear they are good to go on the 18+ then i would say limited to 15-17.
