Some interesting comments over on the Blue Oval forums. According to an employee, the Flat Rock plant shut down on January 14 for lack of multiple parts due to a supplier strike in Mexico, with production finally restarting on February 11th. While the line is supposedly back in operation, there may still be a current holdup over steering wheels, with the line running with dummy wheels that will need to be replaced with the real thing once they come in.

Not sure if it's true or apocryphal, but talking with Ford Performance shows my car, with a stated 2/8 blend date, hasn't had a status update since January 17.

Isn't production regularly throttled at the various plants?
I would assume so as in any manufacturing operation, but if it really was off-line for 3 weeks, it strikes me as a bit more than simple throttling.

Some of this makes sense.

For example, I had a blend date of 1/22 and production did not start until 2/11, now I am awaiting shipment.

I have been looking at recent Mustang listings using cars.com to search new arrivals, and last week there were barely any new cars delivered to dealers anywhere in the United States.

The last week of Jan and the first week of Feb saw lots of cars hitting dealer lots with early January blend dates. Then it basically stopped. So it seems there was some slowdown or shutdown at the plan around 1/21.

Now cars are starting to popup as "in transit" on some dealer sites with blend dates in February and late January, but are few and far between.

Mine did the same on the online tracker. However, if you call / online chat with Ford Performance, what do they show as the date of the last status update for the car?

I also have a blend date of 1/22/19 and the tracker didn’t show my car in production until 2/11/19. The EDD of 2/17/19 still hasn’t changed though. Don’t see how they’re gonna deliver by then if production just started Monday.

This gives some context to my build.

Up to and including Monday, when I called for updates on my build, the status info was still from January 17. It was showing in production - trim, which I think includes interior. Called back today and it is built and awaiting shipment as of this week.

Makes sense if it was missing a steering wheel.

Makes sense now. The tracker for the longest time did not have an EDD for my order. It only showed up last week. I actually would not mind it being delayed a few weeks longer to ensure the weather is good when I go to pick it up.

A quick summary of what I was able to find:
Labor strikes by about 25,000 workers at 48 assembly plants in Matamoros (south of Brownsville, Texas) started Monday, January 14, 2019, and ended Monday, February 11, 2019.

Yeah, but it is a Hello Kitty steering wheel!

My car was built on 1/27 and scheduled to be delivered 2/5. Now, at 3/7 my dealer STILL has no idea when it will be delivered. How can I find out when it will REALLY be delivered?

With all that steering wheel problem. It could take a couple of weeks to be on track with all the production. You're not the only one who is living a nightmare of unknown with is car. I hope it finishes well for everybody.
