It's been many years since I've been to the track on street tires. Always ran drag radials or slicks. I'm tempted to pick up a pair of wheels to mount drag radials on if I goto the track. I'd hate to drive all the way there then spin each pass.
You should look into the Steeda stop the hop kit or the bmr cb005. The wheel hop is a killer too

Stats - 2018 EBPP, A10, 3.55's, 285/35 AS tires (daily driver all year), all stock no tune.

Are there launch techniques (especially for autos) that result in the best times? I've always felt that an auto + turbo combo would be just about perfect for drag racing, and that was a big factor in buying this car. I haven't been able to run a quarter mile yet, but I'm working with the Track Apps to check 0-60 since it's easier to manage several runs in this urban area. So far, I'm seeing really consistent 6.1's - a little slower than I was expecting, but not too shabby for a heavy car. I've tried just hitting the gas from an idle, and loading the trans with part throttle prior mashing the gas... same results. Wheel spin is pretty minimal at this point, but there are pretty good chirps shifting to 2nd & 3rd. I would not say I'm experiencing any wheel hop - at least nothing like I've experienced with other cars. What do I need to be doing differently to get the best launch I can, and can I expect a 0-60 better than this?

Anyone else have time slips for their 2018 (or '19)? Also. has anyone compared the car's track app times to their slips? I'm wondering how accurate they are. That might save me a 250 mile round trip ride to make a few (hopeful) 13 second passes.
I know my track app before I swapped wheels and tires was actually fairly accurate especially on MPH. On the street stock I could get about a 5.6 0-60 and run about 13.9 at 100mph. Went to the track and ran 13.64 at 100mph stock. Then after I got it tuned by Adam at Tune+ the track app showed me running 13.2 at 107mph (car basically spun first car no matter what I did). Went to the track, had good prep was able to net a decent 1.79 60ft and ran 12.67 at 107. So at least on MPH I knew what I was getting. Since I swapped to 20 inch wheels though the app is no longer accurate.

I ran a 13.23 with my stock 2018 automatic on a 62° day at a 200 ft elevation track. It's 100% stock, except I adjusted the tire pressures. It's quicker than I thought it would be, and I think there's room for improvement, with a better launch. My car is no. 302, in the left lane.

Wow! Thats a great time!!! Does your car have the Performance Package (3.55 gears)? I have a 2018 non PP A10 car, i've only had one complete run down the quarter and it ran a 13.8 @ 102 spinning pretty hard through first and second. I'm sure it has more in it, maybe a 13.5 but a 13.2 is awesome! Thanks for inspireing me to get back to the track. I live in South Jersey so maybe I'll see you at Atco or Cecil and get some tips.

Wow... What RPM did you leave at? Have you used the track apps to time your car before? How close did they get?

Brodie,

You had a good run too @ Atco for a completely stock 18 w/A10.

Did you air down your tires at all during those runs, or where they still at normal psi?

Do you have the 3.15 rear in that, since yours is a non-PP?

I don't have the performance package. I'm in Wilmington Delaware.

That pass was launching at 1800 rpm, with a little spin. I've only used the track apps for 0-60. My best is 5.0

Thanks! I dropped my tire pressure down to 24lbs.
Yes my car has 3.15 gears, it also has the 101a package that includes drag mode,

Last august I ran the track for my first time. At the time, it had only an ETC IC, NGK Plugs, and an Airaid tube/KN filter. Best time was a 13.67 @ 102.

Now my excuses on why I think it will run closer to 13.0: The tires were badly worn down PZeros. Hate those things. Running Mich's now. It was about 105 degrees out. I had no idea what I was doing. (still don't) Finally, I have more done to the car now. Fun times.

Ya these motors are useless at the strip in anything above 75° go back in the late fall, you will be amazed with the difference. Oh and ya the stock pirellis are crap. You have low 13's to high 12's in there somewhere
