Hey guys, so I have been running my Paxton setup with a 3.6 pulley since getting it installed and right now i'm running pump gas making 680-690 wheel consistently. Do any of you guys that run a Paxton or vortech kit run a 3.48 pulley on pump? is it safe to do or is it too much boost for pump gas? Ive been holding off on getting a fuel system as there aren't enough E85 stations down in Miami for it not to be a pain to fill up and just wanted to see if anyone is running the 3.48 on 93. Any advice is appreciated.

U would be crazy to run a 3.48 pulley on straight 93.Im willing to bet that even on the 3.6 pulley u car would pull a little timing if u shifted above 7200 hundred rpms and was running straight 93.Use a octane booster atleast.

I figured it would be too much for 93, how much boost does a 3.48 pulley make? Ive been shifting at just about 7200 maybe 7300 like you said and I haven't noticed anything ( knock sensors are always happy and timing is always steady) I do always let my tank get to nearly empty so I can get as much 93 as possible since whoever pumps before you may have gotten 87 and theres always leftover in the pump. guess ill have to just hit up PBD for my fuel system and join the corn club.

I don’t know if it’s true lol but it makes sense because does it just run back down the pump when you stop pumping? I forgot which car guy I watch on YouTube said that but after thinking about it I kind of get it

My buddy had a paxton on the 3.4 pulley and in -da he would see 15 pounds of boost 7500 rpms if he shifted at 8k he would hit 16 psi in first gear.If u have e85 around u.i would do a fuel system.I have a procharger anx with 15 psi of boost mine would sometimes pull timing with 93 and octanium,so i went e85 because i got tired of worrying about blowing my motor up over one bad tank of fuel.

Ya definitely e85 is the best bet, I literally go to the same 2-3 gas stations because I don’t wanna chance it with bad gas. Need to start a petition to get more e85 in Miami lol

I'm running a 3.4 pulley on my 2018 10r80 on 93 octane with vp octanium booster with no problems no knock but you wont see much timing added however when i pour ms103 in the tank car feels much better and i'm seeing 18 degrees of timing being added , i'd say if you are going to race use ms103 or ms109 , btw i'm also from miami so shoot a pm bro we have a local group down here we usually meet and ride together to shows and meets

I just installed the 3.48" pulley and had it dyno'd this week. It made 703/540, and I was making 12psi of boost at 7500 rpms. I run 93 with a can of Boostane in each tank. The car feels noticeably faster than the 3.6" i previously had which made about 650 at the wheels.

Have you considered a wastegate set up like beefcake sells? That’s what I run on mine with 10lb spring and 3.33 pulley. Holds it at 10lbs perfect, no boost creep. Really wakes up the car at lower rpm. You could always spring it higher if you wanted too.

Around 12psi is usually the most you can run on 93, but it will depend on your timing in the tune. You can easily run less/more boost if you increase or decrease timing. Both will affect power about the same. 15psi on 8* timing may be possible but better to have a balance between the two.
