Finally run-in. Wow

I celebrated reaching 1000 miles by taking the car up to Alston from the A69. I’m sure plenty of you know the road.

Extending the engine - finally - is such a rush. The noise the car makes, the ridiculous speed, the whole feel of it. It’s a bit scary to a newbie like me; it demands a lot more respect than my Cayman did. It’s much closer in nature to my 350Z, a great car that I was able to drive confidently after a few months (before that it was MX5s).

The gearshift has also opened up and where it was slightly notchy on delivery, is now as slick as a rat with a gold tooth.

I love my GT. Everyone loves it, apart from a mate who’s actually stopped talking to me since I got it.

Bit further up than that. I have a Kona GT. Will hopefully get along to one of the Northern Pony meets at some point soon.

Did you get an oil and filter change after your first 1000 miles? It is not technically required, neither is running in. However, if you took the trouble and care to run it in, it would make sense to also get fresh oil in it. I have done just this with mine. Belt and Baces and all that. Not had a chance to fully open it up yet..but looking forward to doing so. The Bullitt sounds epic at full chat!

Mines on 17mpg avg, all i do is short runs around York, not seen 200 miles from a tank yet

Don't worry about mates, you'll make plenty more with the Mustang. When I first got mine it used to take me 40 mins to get fuel
