2018 gt a10 gear drive whine?

Seems to be normal, I noticed in on every 10r80 I test drove. I’ve got 1400 miles on mine and it still does it.

I have same mileage. Lol. Going up quickly though.

I hear it in my 17' Premium with an Auto and factory gears. Was thinking it was the crappy chinese tires the previous owner installed but now I am not so sure. Even if I put it into neutral and coast at 20mph I can hear it, especially on a newly paved asphalt road.

My 2018 auto does it .Mostly when at low speed and down shifting i hear a noticeable whine in multiple gears.

Yea I still think my crap tires contribute to it. Might put the rear end on jack stands and put it in gear to see if it still whines.

My car since I picked it up sounds like it has a mild pete jackson gear drive in it. Low speed it is noticeable whine sound. Have not seen this talked about. Do not remember hearing this on other 18’s I drove? Anybody else. Could be in the motor or trans?

If there is something wrong with the transmission and does go bad, wouldn't this just be covered under Ford's powertrain warranty down the road anyways?
Or are people mostly just concerned about the noise.

Some 2017-2019 F-150, 2018-2019 Expedition/Navigator/Mustang, 2019 Ranger vehicles equipped with a 10R80 transmission may exhibit a whine noise. This may occur at idle and while driving coming from the bell housing and front pan area of the transmission. The whine noise may become louder when at operating temperature and increases with higher engine RPM in the PARK position. A small amount of whine noise is considered to be characteristic of the 10R80 transmission due to the offset gear drivetrain in the front support and has no effect on durability.

I believe every 10R80 has a little. Mine whines and now my blower whines, so whining all over! Would you like some cheese with that “whine?”

I don’t hear it on mine except in reverse. 3.55s. I wouldn’t worry about it tho. Sounds like it’s normal

The A10 whine is normal. I like the sound with windows down.

My 2019 GT/PP/A10 has the whine also. My son thought it was a supercharger. I like the whine and it can be heard very well with the windows down while going slow thru the neighborhood.

Also, how do you know if you have a 10R80 transmission?
