Here's the messed up spindle(which is welded to the knuckle) and the hub bolt (after it was removed by a machine shop with around 2000lb of pulling force on it!

And here's the new spindle, hub and knuckle!

If you were replacing the hub and spindle then why bother pulling the nut?

I was originally just replacing hubs, the spindle is welded to the knuckle. I had to pull the nut to see if the nut was shagged or the spindle was shagged, ended up being the spindle and the nut. Pulled it to check (cost me a pack of custard creams and a cup of tea, machine shop were finding it hillarous that the bolt was on that tight!)

Changed the D Maxton front splitter (which I managed to chip) to the Cervini one. Looks much better but wasn’t as straight forward as the instructions implied. Full write up on my Mustang GT Project thread.

Gave it a quick blast off to get rid of the pathetic attempt at snow that came down last night.

Hub update,

after getting a replacement knuckle & hub assembly (if anyone wants a working hub with 2,5k mile less than fords price let me know!), i put it all back together with the 0 miles hub.

Alignment was a bit fucked, so played with my own "bodge job" alignment method (which was just using rulers, spirit levels and some maths). Original alignment when the knuckle was installed rubbed the strut; so had to be done.

Cars now running fine, and back together - woo!

My new one is currently at the detailer and will be collected on Thursday. I really can't wait. It is in for the full Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra treatment with all the bolt-ons at TDI in South Shields.

Typical, car in the north east and the wheels have been nicked :giggle:

Looks very nice though, love that new style rear spoiler :like:

Good to hear - yet to order mine but only heard good things. A surprisingly pleasant smell for a strong wheel cleaner from what I've heard which is a big selling point! Think I'll be grabbing the shampoo too, when I eventually get my car back lol

Well, I finally fitted my new wheels to my car. Before putting them on, I couldn’t resist weighing the old compared to the new.

So, for those of you that are interested, here are the weights (yes, bathroom scales, so not the most scientific, but it will do).

Rears first, stock and then aftermarket, followed by fronts (bear in mind, new rears are 19x11.5 with 345/30r19 and fronts are 19x10 with 285/35r19)
