Window Tints Black

Hope this is the right section. Was wondering what others are using for window tint. Looking for a tint that is definitely black. Seems some of the tints nowadays have a grayish or even brownish color to them. Local tint place I spoke with mention the xpel xr black, I think, but, can’t find much info on these. Going to be dark as legal which I believe is 30% here. What’s everyone using lately? Just picked up the car today and need tints badly.

I used the CeramicIR, believe its made by Suntek - Its black and non reflective and has good heat rejection.

My F150 - I used 45% on windshield, 5% on front windows and 18% on back glass that had factory tint. Doing this makes the back glass meter at 5%..

On the Shelby, I just did 35% on windshield and the rest of the car..

Very nice. That Shelby tint is definitely black. Exactly what I’m looking for. Wish I could go that dark. I’ll take a look into those sunteks as well

Thanks, its actually 35%.. The angle on the Shelby makes it look darker then it really is.. Its not nearly as dark as it looks.

From my experience, they can only test with a meter that slides over the window.. Have not seen a meter for the windshield.

32% + or - 3%, in the State of Georgia. Windshield tint is illegal in any percentage.

NC inspections are tricky some shops will pass what others don't when you get close the allowed amount of tint and most charge more for the inspection due to the tint.

I usually go with 20%. 35% is legal in my state but sunlight bothers my eyes so I have a waiver that allows me to go as dark as I want. It cam be kind of hard to see if there are no lights at night. That's with 20. I'd like to go darker but I think it would be to difficult to see. The best view behind the car would be with the camera.

I can't see how people get away with windshield tint. I wanted to do that but my waiver specifically says to not tint windshield. It's like a target for police.
