Is 275 a bit too wide for a 9" width wheel? I'm looking at a square setup of these and figured 265 might be a bit too much even.

Just curious... why would you want square if you have different width rims??? Planning to rotate your tires from to back??? Get the same size width rims then!!! Mine are 20x10 and 20x9... 285 and 255 front..both 35!
I love the staggered look... more muscular!!

If I do square, it will be 20x9.

Honestly, I think the 275/35 is the ideal width for the 9” rim. Have a look for yourself, but I’ve seen what “too” wide looks like, and I’m no where near uncomfortable with this fit.

As far as the square set up, to each their own; however, I prefer the staggered look and additional grip.

275 is not to wide for a 9" width wheel. It's perfect and it's dumb that ford used 265s on the premium 20x9s.

Unless you want that stretched look, I would go 275s

These wheels are only 22-24lbs which is pretty amazing for the price. My only concern is the AR brand in general. The quality seems to have been considered lacking in the past but I am very interested in these wheels. I feel with Michelins PSS4s’ at 295/35 rears and 275/35 in the fronts would be pretty bad ass. Just throws me off with how cheap these wheels are I mean you can get them today from CJ’s for well under a grand with a coupon code. Not gonna lie I was tempted. That makes me suspicious to the quality though. Can any one give a little info about that in regards.

I can't officially vouch for AR wheels. I did have some way back in the day, but is was just some cheap ones for my truck.
I know ROTA wheels got a bad rap about 10 years ago but I think it had something to do with the some garbage material they were using at the time.

All wheels have to pass certain standards, so they all should be fine.

Also another thing I noticed is these wheels come in multiple sizes in multiple offsets. Why wouldn’t any one get them in the 19in size and save even more weight. You’re looking at 10lbs a wheels over stock difference. That’s a lot.

I was wondering the same thing but I have a feeling the offsets of the smaller sizes don’t mix with the s550.

Here’s a good article on American Racing and the AR924’s (Crossfires) with some good S550 imagery:

https://www.fordnxt.com/tech-storie...yle-to-your-s550-with-american-racing-wheels/

Where did you guys purchase your AR924’s?

Also bringing in the other AR924 thread for future cross references:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/american-racing-ar924’s-on-the-car.120127/
Lowest price I've seen for AR924's with free shipping is from Summit Racing at $249 for 20x9.5" (fronts) $262 for 20x10.5" (rears) less coupon code ALWAYS for $100 of $1000. Looking at pairing these with Falken Azenis at $201 for 275/35ZR20 (fronts) and $215 for 295/35/ZR20 (fronts) from Tire Rack, at bang-for-buck as opposed to laying out the big Michelin money.

Amazon is even better than Summit on the AR924 wheels at $218 for 20x9.5: and $221 for 20x10.5. Amazon at $172 beats Tire Rack's $201 for the Falken 275/35ZR20. So wheels and front tires from Amazon, rear tires from Tire Rack.
