Probably right out the tailpipe...Ford will be the 1st one to 'pull a plug', I'm not touching it for good reason. I'm an old school hot rod guy and would love to start wrenching on it but w/ less than 4k miles on it I'm gonna let the self professed subject matter experts take the lead on it..

Sure as hell not paying for Ceratec to mask an obvious issue.
No kidding, right? Thatā€™s why we have warranties. Personally, Iā€™m getti wore out working on my own when I already fix or finish someone elseā€™s job wrenching or fabricating parts to be within a half a thou. Thatā€™s why I got a new with an auto lol

Ceratec is not a ā€˜fixā€™ for the 2k rpm rattle nor is it for oil consumption.

most oil consumption i have seen has gone away with the use of 5w30 or higher. all the coyotes i had consumed oil on the 5w20 and stopped after i started using higher.

As mentioned earlier, my 2015 used about 1 qt every 5,000 miles with Motorcraft 5W-20. Last oil change I went with Valvoline Advanced 5W-30 full synthetic which has a lower Noack than the Motorcraft oil, so it will be interesting to see if the oil consumption drops even more.

Since my ambient temp is never below 70F, I switch to 20w50 mobil and ceratec....
No noise, better oil press.... Just followed my '13 gt track pack requirements!
No oil consumption in 6.5k miles...2 oil changes already.....every 3k miles...Guess old school!

i have had a 2012,2013,2016 and now a 2018. Each one has held consistent with not losing oil when changed to 5w30 or higher

Is this piston slap? Doesnā€™t sound like bbq tick. It has too much rhythm. Something else?

It's a 2016, so it shouldn't have a DI at all.

My 2019 GT does a similar sound:

It's really loud, sometimes you can also here it inside the car. When the engine is fully warmed up the sound disappears. Maybe it really is the DI in my case, but what bothers me is that I never heard that sound on another mustang. Or do you think it is piston slap? My car also has the 2k rattle...

Sounds like DI noise. Mine sounds similar. Put your head next to the passenger side valve cover and see if it is coming from there. The high pressure fuel pump is there and it is not quiet.
