Has anyone used the power supply to fuse box for their amp power wire? Seems much more convenient and won’t have to mess with any additional wires when you have to remove power from battery for work.

Most decent amps require enough amperage that you would need to go to the battery.

Yeah I have always used the battery. But was looking around under hood today pre planning and noticed the wire at the fuse box.

Pulling power for an amp from the fuse box is not ideal as most amps require more than can be supplied at that source. Unless your running a very small amp, its best to run a dedicated power off the battery. Right under the battery box, there is a lot of room and nothing in the way to drill a hole in the firewall and run power through it. I'm running 1/0 power wire. Pulled the battery and box out, pulled the carpet and used a uni bit and made the hole. Used a grommet and ran the wire down the passenger inside of the car. Took all of about 45-60 minutes and that's with trying to see where to run it.
