My 27 inch Hoosiers are the quick time pro's .
Not sure if work as well as true non DOT slick.

I wonder if the 17 inch wheels actually work better than the 15's (I think I heard some one say something about that once )

I still have 28 inch Hoosier slicks on 17 wheels I will try if the 28 inch Bias ply ET R's (15 wheels ) don't work .

6060 with 3.73 rear. Around 5psi on launch.
What first gear . 2.66 or 2.97 ?

I think a 3.73 with a 27 inch tire's final ratio is closer to a 4.10 with 28 inch tire .

The 27 inch tire with 4.10's maybe too short .

I think the 15 vs 17 issue is mostly fitment related. Wider tire on 17 than 15.

I just got my 15” beadlocks. No car, but hey lol

I don’t remember lol. That was February of 17. Hell, now you have me questioning if I had a 27 or 28. Haha.

Lol
So may be the wider tire on the 17 inch wheel helps with traction ?

Possible but you get less sidewall flex

Not had much time for this car this year .

I had to replace the non hub sprung RXT for the hub sprung version after it was getting hard to shift .
It was shifting like butter after the swap ....but then started loosing coolant .
I was afraid it was another cracked block (last one cracked in the valley ) but turns it out it was a blown head gasket .

One of the GT 350 heads also had some scoring (looks like two of the cam caps were placed in the wrong order but not sure if that was the cause) so I decided to swap the heads for a pair of GT heads/new stock cams/upgraded springs I had ported and cleaned earlier this year. Hopefully I will have better luck with them than the GT 350 heads which I think have oiling issues.
Hoping I can fix the GT 350 heads and have them as another "spare"

To save some $$$ I had a buddy of mine pick up the car and do the work in Michigan. (Dealership rates also just went up after the GT 350 whipple install).
He just dropped off the car but only one more test and tune day left at the local track and I am to chicken to drive it 100 miles to US41 that may be open on weekends in November weather permitting.

Hopefully I get one more shot at that 9 this year.

Have you tried using the Cometic head gaskets? I’ve used them in my latest engine build and they look to be made very well.

Just updating this thread .
Car now has stock GT heads and dropped down to a 3.25 pulley .
Should be enough to make that 9 second pass as long as I can get it to hook .Lol

Also finally had the “spare” BES Sleeved 5.2 short block assembled in to a long block with GT 350 heads/Gen 2 Ford racing GT 350 spec cams / GT 350 low leak cam phasers and lifters/GT 350 rockers arms/springs .
Of course also upgraded OPG/CS . Block is complete engine from oil pan to covers .

Plan this season is to focus on getting the car into the 9’s(other cars will be taking a back seat till then) before I sell it .
I may swap in the new engine before selling or offer it with the car as is .

Should be a cheaper option for someone looking for a supercharged “5:2” like the GT 500 but can’t pony up the $80K it will likely cost, or must have a manual option .
