I have raced older Mustangs at about every track on the East Coast.

I've been wrecked at most of those tracks (it's was never my fault).

it was a requirement to have a solid roll cage with a Hans device. I also had a radio back to the crew for information. All here:

I raced door-to-door at Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, Road America, Sebring, and VIR. You need to stay safe wile also racing to the front.

Just to close the loop. I chose a matched pair (same rig for driver & passenger) of safety gear. I'm 5’11” 190lbs and my son is 5’7” 150lbs. Both of us fit the seats.

Seats are Sparco Pro Adv TS
Belts are Schroth P2 6 Enduro 3” shoulders
HNRs are Schroth SHR Flex

The Sparco Halos are non-Intrusive. I can easily see over them and my son can look around them.

The belts are easy to adjust (Enduro feature). The crotch straps ride parallel to my legs and are very comfortable. The buckle locks open and makes it easy to get out of them.

The SHR flex is very comfortable. I don’t even notice it. And it handles the 3” belts well. I just had to practice sliding it on/off of my neck.

Thanks again for the helpful advice.

Cheers,
