So I’ve almost always strictly put BP gas in my car. And my Lowside FP actual every time I’d drive would end up 90-102. Which after reading Adams ecoboom thread, that’s high. Well I decided to get marathon gas, and my lowside numbers have decreased into the mid 70’s and low 80’s. Is this a fluke? Anyone else buy marathon gas ?

It would be very helpful to know what you mean by these words.

Well damn!!!

O.k......o.k......may bad!!!

So....I have no idea what low-side fuel pressure is. The pressure in the fuel return line to the tank? Or is there no such thing? Something specific to an EB motor?

Sorry, my head still isn't in the game.

HAHA! I have no idea either! :giggle:

But yes, it's EB specific. There's a sensor.

I'm also in the camp that the gas alone shouldn't affect your fuel pressure.. something else is going on there I think as well.

Well that was kind of part of my post. I wasn’t even sure if a change in gasoline brands could affect that. It could however affect the ignition corrections yes? Like bad gas leads to Pre-detonation? Fuck idk. I’m car retarded

One time in an old Lincoln I put in Marathon gas and it ran so bad for that tank I couldn't believe it. Never experienced anything like that with any other gas brand. Never bought Marathon since.

I have also heard of bad gas. I've never experienced it myself, however an co-worker drives a mini and claims that she'll never get gas from this Midwestern chain Kum & Go. She felt a significant lack of oompf or something, as she described it. Made an appointment at her trusted mechanic thinking it was an issue, got close to her appointment, and next fill up she got the problem was gone. So I'm also not quite sure on gas, but I feel you.

And you're not car retarded lol. You care enough to want a fun toy type car, and in my book if you care about driving, and having fun driving. You're already not an average driver, you also care enough to ask about this. I'm pretty sure your average driver may not even notice, let alone even care until it was debilitating, or their service adviser brought it up the next time they needed new wipers/tires/oil change.

Yeah I don’t buy speedway gas for that same reason. Next time I filled up, problem solved.
