GT350 issues

Hi all

considering a used GT350. figuring on a 2017 or newer since i might track the car a few times a year and don't want overheating issues. aside from that, can anyone tell me briefly what are any other known issues with the car? 2017 specifically? or point me to a thread where this is already being discussed? i plan on buying used from a dealer so hopefully will have warranty protection, just curious about anything else people are dealing with. also, 2017 and newer came standard with magnaride and trans coolers?

Correct.

If you go digging through the threads here, it might make you think 100% of GT350s have oil consumption issues. If you're getting a 2017 GT350, your drivetrain will be covered until 2022 by the warranty. So if you're okay with the idea that it is entirely possible that you may have to have an engine replaced, I just wouldn't worry about it.

But if you search an enthusiast forum for car issues, you're inevitably going to find them and chances are the percentage of people affected will seem a lot higher than it actually is (impossible to prove empirically, but nonetheless)

So yes, oil consumption issues are the main thing people worry about. But it will be covered under your warranty, even on a used vehicle. A/C issues seem to be another thing that affect all Mustangs of all trim levels. But again...warranty. Body panel alignment issues. Again, warranty if you feel like it's worth the legwork.

I've had my GT350 for 10 months without issues. 10 track days with normal oil consumption, 1 qt per 2 days of hard driving. Acceptable in all respects. Love the car!

The only issue I have with my R is my face hurts from perma grin while driving.

You can go with a track pack 15 or 16 as well but, I would advise a warranty.

You can track a Tech Pack also but only for 15 minutes.
