Both sides on ours were hanging down. In fact the right side had been jammed forward and pinched by the Shaker subwoofer module to the point it was holding the rear of the top down below the rubber seal on the right side about an inch when in the up position. Had to have been done at assembly plant. It was letting leaves and debris down there and plugging up the canvas drain gutter.
I removed the subwoofer to get at it. Snapped both sides back in and used screws to secure them.

I had to fix one of mine the other week. My car had a new top put on prior to delivery, as there was a flaw in the top stitching somewhere on it. In any event, I am sure that the top shop broke one of the little tabs off (the ones to the rear of the car), either while removing or replacing. I found it hanging down and put it back in but when the top is down (and no tension on the strap) I'm sure vibration made it drop out. I found, as the OP did, that there are holes in the plastic that happen to line up with holes in the sheet metal. I put the top part way down so I had slack and started a screw, with washer, and then put the top up to get the strap in tension and thereafter tightened the screw. Problem solved, in about ten minutes, without losing the car to the dealer for a day (or more, when they find they have to order the part).

Hi Johnnybee, You and I have have the same Mustang premium convertible in the Royal Crimson. Was wondering if you can get the "analog" oil pressure gauge option in your dash instrument cluster? Thanks and take care, Joe

No oil pressure in my digital dash. Somebody said you can but I’ve never found it. If I have the gauges up on the screen and scroll through them, you get three screens, the gauges you have chosen, in an analog style, the g-meter and lastly, a list of all gauges with digital read outs. That list consists of intake air temp (not charge temp), fuel ratio, head temp, boost pressure and volts.

Thanks for the response. I guess the engine oil pressure "analog" gauge option is not available for our model.

if you really want one, you could locate the PP gauge cluster and install. I believe the loom is there behind the dash. That would give you an oil pressure gauge and boost/vacuum. I’ve never looked into it so I don’t know the cost of parts or the process for the install. eBay and YouTube are likely your friends for that.
