That's why I figured I'd document how it sounds before the first oil change.Sounds good. But I think the issue for most people who have this problem is that the tick develops after the first or second oil change.
I only put a thousand miles on my 18 before parking it in the garage for winter. I'll probably change the oil in it next summer. Hope I'll be OK.
Sounds like we should all use Ceratec from day one. Or better yet, Ford should include it in the oil specs.Mine developed the tick at around 3500 mi on the original oil... 1st oil change was at 4500 mi, still ticking. Added 1 bottle of Ceratec and no more tic! I have 8500 mi now and still very quiet.
AND also include a bottle in the glove box! Not sure how or what this stuff does, but it works very well on the "Tick".Sounds like we should all use Ceratec from day one. Or better yet, Ford should include it in the oil specs.
I'm not expecting problems anytime soon. But if they develop, and the dealer says it's normal I have a recording of it without the noise to show what is normal. Only reason for the video.800 miles and no issues... i'd sure as hell hope so
That's like saying that your black car doesn't have swirl marks with 4 miles on it. Why bother
