I'm looking to order a 2019 GT350, but waiting to see the GT500 before I pull the trigger.

If the GT500 only comes with automatic then the decision is easy.

I love the White with Blue stripes, also the Blue with White stripes.

Are these Quality decals?

What if I decide 5 years from now to remove these decals and Paint real stripe?

Will it be easy or a major PITA?

Thanks.

Vinyl experts can remove them with what they call an eraser wheel if they have to resort to that. That adds to teh cost but being a GT350 owner cost is no issue to you I would assume. I have had stripes removed after being on a car for over a year and redone. I went with Oracle on the redo. The brand is well known in the marine industry. The previous vinyl had imperfections in it, and started lifting only months after being applied (a different vinyl shop). This stuff stayed down, and had a much better finish overall. They have some awesome colors. Make sure whoever does it has been certified to use Oracle. It is a bit more tedious to work with according to the guy who did mine, and takes a little attention to detail and understanding how it is applied to work it properly.

I have had Avery and 3M vinyl used on cars for stripes in the past. Both had issues with staying down. This Oracle vinyl did not budge, shrink, crack. or lift after 2 years on the car. Others may have had great luck with these products. I am only sharing my personal experience with all three.

Simple. Order without stripes. Have stripes painted on. Infinite color choices. Infinite choices of widths and patterns. No special care. Won't peel. Won't stain. Other benefits such as 8 times thicker clear for chip resistance and mirror smooth paint on upper surfaces.

Bumpers, strut tower brace, spoiler (before clear):

The stripes are cheap vinyl, and I pulled mine off several months after buying the car. Use a blow dryer to warm them up and they pull right off. From past experience, having stripes painted on can be problematic. You need to be very sure of the shop that will do the work.

I pulled mine off over a year after owning mine. They come off so easy, it’s almost sad.

Looks very nice. I would like to have done that. You can ceramic coat over them. Should be "indestructible", unless your child is Dennis the Menace.

You should know that the GT350 and the GT500 will be very different cars. If you want to track your car out of the box with minimal modification, the GT350 is your best bet. The GT500 will be heavier with a different driving dynamic, much more expensive, and will go through consumables (rotors, brake pads, tires) on the track at a rapid rate. If you have the budget and want bragging rights on the latest, highest-horsepower pony car that Ford offers, then the GT500 will serve you well.

~$2,000. There is a thread here by someone in CA (L.A?) that had it done for ~$1400. Could have been done for less but I went with someone I knew at a place in business since 1923 that guarantees the work for life and means it. There was some guy getting his AZ sun baked truck repainted for the 3rd time under the warranty on the original job over 40 years ago.

Its a bigger job than you might think. You need to isolate the panels that get stripes. That includes things like removing the roof antenna bump which in turn means dropping the headliner to remove the antenna etc, etc.. The factory clear on those entire panels have to be scuffed. After the stripes are laid, the entire panel has to be cleared. So everything but doors and fenders get cleared. Which is a good thing (other than the cost) because a human can't lay clear as thin as factory robots, so you end up with the thin factory clear PLUS the human applied clear on top of that.

The shop had never painted stripes before but their head painter had in a prior life. Management was a little reluctant to take the job and probably added a bit to the quote because the job didn't fit their business model (eg: most accident repair customers don't ask for a bunch of paint samples; I changed my mind on the color 5 times. LoL).

I told them they should update their sign more than once every 13 years (and counting) but I guess the word "over" technically means they never need to:

for those who have taken the stripes off if the car is older than a year or two, was there any fading/discoloration from where the stripes were to where the unstriped part was?

While my car lived inside and had a whopping 95 miles when I bought it, no, there is no ghosting.

No ghosting on the paint, only the sticky residue would show where they were when the car was wet (until I went after it with a claybar/buffing), and red is usually one of the worst offenders for fade.

I have no idea what kind of life my car lived before I acquired it, but based on the lack of wear and tear, I'm assuming it was a garage queen.

my car has nearly 20k on it and for the last few months has been a daily driver. i have a carport that keeps most of the sun off of it but in the daytime it sits in the parking lot. im happy with the stripes but if in the future i want to peel them off i dont want to have to respray the car just to get rid of ghost stripes.

GT500 is going to be designed as a drag race vehicle versus a track car like the GT350. It's supposed to be compared to the Hellcat/Demon which are not comparable to the GT350 designed for the road course track.
