Sync 2 to Sync 3 conversion...can’t get the bottom controls to work.

I have a 2016 track pack gt350 and recently bought the upgrade kit from 4D Tech. Everything is installed and appears to work except for the silver controls (traction control etc) on the bottom of the bezel. Steering wheel controls still work. 4D says their OBD2 program that comes with the kit will NOT activate those buttons. I have been told others have used forscan to activate them.

I know about the 70+ page thread discussing this conversion but thought I would see if someone could help for this specific item sense everything else works.
