There’s no trans dipstick on the A10 - how are you suggesting folks to check their trans fluid? Dealer Service?
If it's the same as the A6 there's a very small dipstick thats bolted onto the passenger side of the trans so you'll have to get under it to check it.

seems my 4th and 5th gear are going at 5k miles
Yep, saw that yesterday! Was frustrating watching you try to hit 11s. At least you have a reason which means it can be fixed and move on.

Here’s a video that shows the RPM fluctuation I get in fifth gear:

Yes!
This is exactly my case too...........once it gets to 5th...my rpm's lower! ( mine goes even lower)... and then keep rising up......mind you this is even under hard acceleration.

* i have Digital dash as well.....WTF?
* Under Normal Drive (not sport)
* When downshifting to 5th....the transmission jerks...every ...single... time......

Has anyone got this fixed by the dealer?
Do we have an idea of what the problem might be?
Converter lock up maybe?

It is converter lock up. I bet if you datalog the car, and log the converter clutches you can watch it lock up.

5th gear is definitely the hardest one to engage in sport mode driving....This is on a one week old car. Hopefully it adjusts over time and is a non issue.

So 10k into my car now - it still does some weird stuff when shifting, but not as bad in the 4th to 5th, its been to a really crappy dealer here in Phx and they gave me the nothing is wrong song and dance, I have just ignored it, its under warranty after all - and learned to drive this trans differently than the other auto / dct / tip 6 speeds I have driven or that of my '15 GT.

I think there is some learned behavior on the trans computers part, some learned behavior on the size 12 part, and there is definitely something not completely right in the trans but hey... she is fast and has not let me down...

I will be taking her into the dealer here in Jan for a few things (geeze its bad when work, holiday visitors, and home project requirements force you to schedule your warranty visits...)

Not that this is an actual fix. Last time my car did the weird shift for 5th. I put the car in drag mode. It shifted beautifully. Since then, it has been fine. I've also done multiple wot pulls in other modes since then without issue.

my 5th gear is getting worse. the trans is slipping in different gears and the down shifts are getting bad, especially when down shifting in 3rd.

I hate to revive an really old thread, but I happened to be googling information on this subject. I have a 2019 that does the same thing in normal mode from 5th to 6th gear. The rpm's drop and you can even hear my exhaust sound like its struggling and losing power. Only from 5th to 6th. In any other drive modes no issues. I even got a Ford Performance calibration tune and it still does it. I never get codes so I figured it was what others said.... converter lock up.
