Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this issue with the 2018 5.0.

I live in NYC and we recently had a snowstorm. During that snowstorm i had to get up a snowy hill which resulted in me having to have the rpms between 5k and 7k for a period of about 3 minutes. The speed was around 3 mph. The engine did not overheat, it only got up to 220 F. Not great but not crazy.

The day after i got a code for P0300 (Random Misfire) and P0316 (Misfire detected on startup first 1000 revolutions). After driving like that it finally showed me P0302. I attempted to switch coil number 1 and coil number 2 to see if it just a coil issue. No result yet, waiting on CEL to come back on. I do not believe it is as simple as a coil.

Has anyone else had an issue with P0300 on the 2018 5.0?

For those that don’t know:
DTC’s P0301 through P0310, the last 2-digits refer to the engine cylinder.

For your symptom, (applies to P0300, P0302 or P0316), you want to follow this path:

I appreciate you sending me that PDF. As it turns out P0302 came back anyway even after i switched the coils.

This can be caused by many different things so i will instead be bringing my car to the dealer as i do have warranty.
